The Shure SM7dB Active Dynamic Microphone is a dynamic vocal microphone with a built-in preamp that delivers smooth, warm vocals with plenty of clean gain, ideal for direct interface recording or simple vocal chains. The preamp offers either 18 or 28 dB of boost, as well as a bypass mode for original SM7B-like performance. The SM7dB also provides EQ controls with bass roll-off and presence boost controls.
The SM7dB also has improved resistance to electrical noise, hum, and interference for cleaner, clearer audio. This new model is ideal for everything from professional studio recording, home use, podcasting, and content creation like streaming or video voiceover.

Built-in boost
A faithful approach to the SM7B and its warm, rich vocal sound, the SM7dB adds an in-line preamp when used with phantom power, this preamp offers 18 or 28 dB of transparent gain for appropriate levels for direct recording, as well as a bypass mode for original SM7B sound.

Faithful broadcast sound
Preamp aside, the SM7dB provides the exact same performance, sound quality, and circuitry as the SM7B, giving the warm, familiar broadcast sound that has become a studio, podcast, and content standard. With the identical bass roll-off and presence boost EQ settings to cut through the mix, the SM7dB is great for professional musicians, studio engineers, streamers and YouTubers alike.
